Things to do around Rose Condo Girona

Well, where to start? How about breakfast? There are 2 bakeries within 50m and both have fresh croissants and bread from 7am but no coffee to take away (a frequent complaint, sorry!) If you feel too lazy to go back to the apartment then walk another 20m and sit outside under the chestnut trees at the Konig restaurant where you can eat and drink all day (and part of the night) long.

Want to shop for a nice meal at home, there is an excellent butchers, a small supermarket with fresh fruit and vegetables on display outside and for dessert a selection of ice cream or chocolates to tempt everyone.
Want some culture? OK follow me! On the other side of the street from the Konig restaurant is the Cull de Lleona, a stone pole with a lion climbing up it where you have to climb the 2 steps and kiss the lion's posterior which will not only bring you luck but will also bring you back to Girona again. After this you need to pray/visit the Cathedral which is best approached from the steps below (a reward for anyone who can tell me how many steps there are). You are now in the heart of the Old Town and it's fun to just wander through the narrow streets not knowing what and where you are. More than likely you will come out in the Jewish Call (ghetto) area with the restored synagogue and very interesting museum welcoming you to learn about their 500 years of history here in Girona.
By this time you will be tired so head for the Rambla and sit outside in one of the cafes along this pedestrian area and watch the daily life of the town flow past you. With some 300 days of sunshine chances are you will be outside as even in winter the sun makes the days warm.
Feel like some shopping? Well you are in the right place as there are fashionable boutiques on the Rambla itself and on the opposite side of the river, Santa Clara too, connected by several old pedestrian bridges.
Sounds like it is now time for a bit of exercise so the walkers can head along the Sant Daniel valley and up to the old castle of Sant Miquel which is about an hours walk uphill and the views all the way to the coast and up to the Pyrenees are well worth it. For cyclists the bike path leaves from the Devesa park just next to the apartment and is an old railway line now converted to gravel path that stretches all the way to Olot, 58km away through some spectacular scenery and country villages.
In the evening it's time to explore the vast choice of bars and restaurants from tapas to Michelin starred offerings to suit all palates and wallets. To finish off the day a gentle walk along the streets and squares and finding a terrace to enjoy a coffee or brandy and looking back over a day well spent and planning tomorrow's equally fun options. For the hyper-active a jazz concert or something classic in one of the churches or the Auditori concert hall is available all year long.
Girona-you will fall in love with the lifestyle so beware, you have been warned!
